The caller (female) told me that she worked for a fraud investigation company contracted to the Australian Government and my phone number had come up in an investigation they were doing. She asked me if I had been involved in a scam that had lost me money. I said no. She persisted in asking me questions and I so I asked which company she worked for and which Government department they were contracted to. She would not tell me and then said I was under investigation. I'm afraid I had had a very bad day so I told her off, pointing out that what she was doing and how she was doing it was textbook scam procedure and if she was really working for the Australian Government they needed to change what they were doing and how so people could verify their details and if they were not working for the Australian Government I was going to report the number they called me on as I was sick and tired of people taking advantage of other people and hung up.
