Caller: Apparently the caller was from Telstras IT security department The caller explained they were from Telstra and that my IP address had gone from private to public listing and l need to take urgent action, no personal details will be required over the phone. When I asked for some sort of verification he was from yelstra he gave me his email address as dend.telstra @ gmail.com (clever... d end) When I remarked that it was very unlikely telstra would issue employees a Gmail address he said he would give me his employee number which was 133776721. This is not an Employee number, it's Telstras publicly listed Employer number / Tax ID. When I stated he might have his employee and employer words confused the call ended. Big surprise...not.
