Caller: Alex Hayden Caller said he was from Telstra and gave me a Telstra Tech Dept ID Number EIN 133776721 stating our IP address was showing public for the last 2 days. Looking through Google search I noticed an article :- New Telstra scam claims your IP address is at risk
I then called my NBN provider & was told all ip addresses are public and change when re-logging on
I call Telstra and was told the Telstra Tech Dept does not call customers, the Telstra Employee number given was an unknown number and the NBN Co. runs the current configuration of IP addresses and customer's choice of NBN providers are the contact for issues and not Telstra

Caller: Someone claiming to be from Telstra This happened to me too. The woman caller almost had me convinced. Luckily when I Googled for her EIN Number up popped a list of options including is Telstra really contacting me. The number she called from was (03) 8747 3022.
