Caller: Pop up ad on computer This is a Microsoft flashing scam claiming the computer had been locked.
The screen appears black and silly me did ring the number. Eventually, a guy who sounded half asleep answered the call. I did not provide any personal details. The guy explained he was from microsoft tech department and i should get in touch 'tomorrow' and he'll get a technician to 'fix' the computer. He also, quite cleverly (note change of tactic; friendly, understanding, patient, not asking for personal details), explained that no money would be requested, but that the computer had been hacked.
