Caller: Claimed he was Phillip from ING bank Claimed he was from ING bank and had stopped fraudulent transactions. What made it sound convincing was that he could tell me the amounts. Turns out after calling ING he more than likely made the fraudulent transactions himself so he knew the amounts to gain my trust as a genuine bank employee. I dodged a bullet on this one by blocking my account immediately and ordering new cards. Lesson….. Don’t ever believe a call to you is a bank representative. Always tell them you will immediately call back bank hotline and ask the question.and put account/cards on hold if needed while you process what was going on. This caller knew too much about my accounts which was rather scary.
