They called my mobile, and hung up as soon as I said hello. they then immediately rang my work land line and did the same thing. Obviously validating that my number is legit, however what is that validation used for one wonders.

Caller: 8x8 It was a sales lady from a company called 8x8 who sell VoIP telephone systems. In this case, I had requested to download a paper from them anticipating I might get an email, but they phoned? How rude. And not only once, but twice - as in quick succession. First time it rang I missed the call, and the lady didn't leave a voicemail, she immediately called again. I don't like salespeople who do that.
