I grew up at this number.As a child, this was a party line of about 27 properties and our number was 73 x. The ring was dah.dit.dit.dah. Some people would listen in to other people's conversation and one eavesdropper was easily identified by her pet budgie in the background. Not wise to discuss anything confidential on a party line!
