apparently a robotic sounding taxation officer called jeremy anderson stating they have received an official complaint on tax matters and we are being taken to court and need to ring this number

Same here had James Anderson left a message with the same message as everybody else. Wondering if anybody has called back the number to get up them or is that not a good idea. I love asking people like this a bunch of questions to see what they come up with - they usually hang up on me.

Just had the same call. www.scamwatch.gov.au confirms that this is a scam coming from a foreign call centre.

I just received a call from a James Anderson as well. reported to the ATO.

Had same call twice. Voice sounds different - computer? Did number search and comes up with a business in Coffs Harbour?

Same message as what others have posted - James Anderson from Tax Office "we have received a legal complaint under your name regarding tax avoidance" and "before we issue a warrant for your arrest, call this number"
Haha, how does the ATO receive a legal complaint or issue warrants?!

Same as abov. Scam tax office crapola. Can't we issue warrant for their arrest .. Indian reading off sheet.

Had message on answering machine from "James Anderson". Did not sound like a machine though.

I am sure that for any serious matter the ATO would put it in writing.

received message from James Anderson from the "ATO" and said before contacting the government about a legal complaint about backed taxes, I should call back this number, included a threat to call back before a warrant for my arrest was to be issued.
