Caller: NBN Scammer Scammer on (02) 9072 4524 I got a Robocall stating that my internet would be out off. I could challenge this boy Pressing 1 or agree to let it be cut by pressing 2. Since I knew it was a scam I naturally pressed 1.
After pressing 1 they hung up. However the robocall was identical to a recent one I got the other day.
I was told that my network had been hacked and that people were using it to commit crimes and that they were going to help me put a stop to it.
They usually ask what type of computer that you have so that they can use the correct script to scam you. They expect you to say Windows, Mac or Linux. I usually confuse the hell out of them by saying I have an Amiga 5000 running a Workbench OS
Last time I was guided to this web page so that they could prove they were legit:
www. clsid. webs. com (if you remove the bank spaces you can get to the page yourself)
The entire website is just a picture with a title: "Computer License Security Identification" (as in clsid). Also shown on the picture is their supposed "Random" CLSID number which is always: 888DCA60-FC0A-11CF-8F0F-00C04FD7D062
The quote the number and hope that this will convince you to trust them enough to download some Remote Desktop Software so that they can access your computer. With this software they: 1) download your important files (i.d, passwords banking details etc.) 2) install software to allow later access. 3) install viruses and or ransomware
Last time I was told that at least 3 other people were using it and committing crimes with it.
I was asked to download Anydesk Remote Desktop Software.
I told them that there was no Amiga version so I could not install Anydesk. This pisses them off. They think they have a sucker on the hook but cannot do anything about it. Agter transferring me to the supervisor he hung up when I said that I had no windows computer.
