I had a call from (02) 6261 1111 this afternoon. The Guy "John Miller" is talking on behalf of Home Affairs department. He has my all correct information Name, DOB, Email etc.
He asked me when i am first came to Sydney and i am confused and i asked the correct date of arrival. the he said when we are arrived in sydney then we have to fill some declaration form in this we some some information. SO he said to me, The form information is not matching with my passport or visa. so that Indian immigration department has put my clearance on HOLD. so that u have to leave this country on immediate basis.
i said i can't. then he said ok, so Australian Government provides and another option to get the clearance from department. the option is:
Just be on call never cut or Put hold or Never Mute the call.
after that they asked there is penalty of $989 + $18 is it was refundable.
You got the refund after police clearance by Cash or By Cheque or By Bank Transfer.

Then i make a call to my migration agent and he said this is an scam.
Then i start to asked some few questions to him and he drooped the call.

So this is the case.
They are all bull sit. It is a scam call.

Seems to get their data from VFS or Indian government when an application for visa is made. They are scammers.

Its a scam call . do not get afraid / give any details to them. Asked them give whatever they are saying in written , they will threaten you that cops will contact you but be firm and so they will hang up. But you won't get a call back. They have called me several times.

This number will periodically robocall you for a fake conversation. All they likely doing is recording your voice where it will be sampled and abused. If you see this number, then block/ignore it and if you must contact DFAT then call the number directly instead of taking the call.

Got a call from this number saying that they were from foreign affairs & were asking for my details. When I mentioned that I'm uncomfortable sharing information over a call & I could visit the Foreign affairs office myself to clarify my identity. They just ended the call without a single word.

Called twice in a row at 8:35pm. Really doubt its a government office, which the phone ID says, as its late at night

Not a scam - it was the passport office confirming something on my passport application. (I had made a minor mistake)

Got calls from this number for three times. It related to visa application. Other visa applicants from China also got calls from so called shanghai office asking about their visa information. And once they called from Shanghai office to applicants, my phone just received this call from Canberra. Did not pick up call. Need to be pay attentions.

A scam for sure. Received a call directed to the university I work at. Asked for someone who is not a staff member and not in our directory. Started to think the call sounded fishy so started to ask some questions. Caller implied it was a consular call relating to Pakistan. Caller ended call saying they realised the employee they were after was on leave and they would call back.

A women's voice, asking if I was my partner [Insert male name]. I said no and she asked if he was near and could take the call? He did and all they asked was to confirm his date of birth and hung up.
Women said she was from the Department of Home Affairs.

Indian woman called me from (02) 6261 1111 asking me to do a partial medical within 2 days. They also asked if I have a migration agent. They knew some of my details but not all. I contacted my agent and have blocked the number.
Do not give any of your personal details to these people tell them to direct all questions to your agent

Caller: Unknown - A guy

Received call from this number multiple times today. When I picked up, I was informed that it's for immigration status clearance. When he was about to ask questions, I firmly told him that my immigration details are with Australia government and I don't think someone would call me and ask for clearance. But, he did not back off. He was trying to give out a scary vibe and I told him "better luck spamming someone else" and he immediately disconnected. I got multiple calls again from the same number and I have blocked it now.

Possibly an Indian guy who pronounces information as "Infarmessan".

I just got the call with the Smartraveller or (02) 6261 1111 number, and asking me about the visa check clearance. I put off the phone after 20sec..

Police attention is required to track and put them out of world
