Important information for the Security Industry
CPP30507 Certificate III Technical Security
There are many technicians in the Canberra area who have the skills and the experience to operate as technical security professionals but lack the formal regulatory qualification.
Australian Forensic Services – Registered Training Organisation 4282 has the capacity to assess you against the requirements of this qualification which is needed for licensing purposes. We also have the capacity to provide gap training if it is required.
Cost for Recognition of Prior Learning for this qualification is $1750.00 x GST
How does it work: We send you a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Kit.
You respond to the requirements of the kit – you will need to provide certified copies of previous or related training you have undertaken and an overview of the duties you have performed in the Technical Security industry. This is to demonstrate your knowledge and experience against each unit of competency. The material you submit needs to demonstrate that you have achieved the required knowledge and skills of each competency.
Each document you attach needs to be numbered for referring to by the assessor. When addressing the RPL kit write an overview of how you are competent and advise which document we need to refer to for validation.
For example, the unit CPPSEC3035A Identify technical security requirements – You will need to describe your capabilities against this unit. Attach documents that show where and how you have identified technical security requirements. – Floor plans, site maps etc. Any supporting evidence that you have to back up your claim needs to be attached and numbered and clearly identifiable to the assessor.
The AFS technical Security assessor – Zoran Iliev will then assess the submitted material and arrange for an interview assessment. This may include an opportunity for you to physically demonstrate your skills against the units or skills requirements.
Changes to workplace assessor regulations mean that all workplace assessors need to be qualified at the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment by July 2013. If part of you role includes workplace assessment of trainees and colleagues, this will affect you.
Over Fifty? – Government funding is available for this and many other qualifications including Business administration, WHS and OH&S for persons over the age of fifty who need their skills recognised.
