Caller: Scam ATO pre-recorded message

A call came from this number claiming to be the ATO with a final warning on tax violation and immediate remediation.

Tried calling the number back to recieve an automated message that the number called is not connected.

Caller: ‭(02) 6216 1120‬

I don’t know anyone from Canberra that would be calling me on a Monday morning. Not going to bother to call
Them back. Might be a scam.

Caller: ATO - SCAM ALERT

Was a pre-recorded message advising a Tax Violation have been completed under my name. Called on a work phone. Hung up after first sentence.

Caller: Tax scammers

Takes a while for the robot to start informing you of a tax violations against you. Just put the phone down once it starts it nonsense.

a bad pre recorded English accent man said something about a breach with the Austrailian Tax Office and I was supposed to select the number one....sounds like a dodgy poorly executed scam if i ever heard one!

Called back and could not be connected check number and try again?? Strange says originated from Canberra.

Called back but it rings once then gives a disconnected message.

said they were the ATO. Absolute rubbish.

started to Identify its self as the Tax office ?

I just got the same thing!

Spam criminals purporting to be the ATO tax dept. If place of origin of call is found they will be punished to the full extent of the law.

Nos said it was a call from Camberra rang straight back and phone Nos was apparently disconnected..

Left a recorded message about a tax problem. Sounded like a scammer.
