Another scam recorded message call from "The Australian Tax Office". When I returned the call from a blocked mobile phone there was a lot of domestic background noise and a man answered stating that he was from the ATO. After a short conversation exhorting him to stop making scam phone calls he hung up.

I answered an 02 number and heard an automated message saying that it was the ATO and they were filing a law suit against us, and to call the above number for further information. Stupidly I did call the number, but was immediately suspicious when an Indian man and a lot of static responded to my call, asking for personal information which I declined to give, and eventually he's swore at me repeatedly - which of course was the end of the call.

Three more calls over the last few days - same claptrap about AGL and a lawsuit!

I had a call from this number said calling from ATO. Mentioned that they record the phone call. Press charges for the unpaid tax from 2009-2014. If I don't pay the amount I will be arrested within next 72 hours. Lol sounded like Indian ascent. I have reported this number to the tax office today.

Called several times saying they were the Australian Tax Office, was an automated voice saying they were filing a law suit and told me to ring on another number to find out more information. I didn't call as I knew it was a scam and blocked the number as they rang several times over the last 5 days

Very annoying. Getting lots of calls from this number on both my landline and mobile. The recorded message says its from the ATO. I don't know what they get out of the continual calls so I can't really call it a scam, but yeah very annoying.

Third recorded message from this number(7.05 pm) saying I have an out standing Tax Bill and a Law suit has now been filed .The Australian Tax Office do not call at all.They send out letters .Disgusting filth these scammers are

This number has been calling every couple of days for weeks. The ATO does not leave American accented voice messages to advise you are being taken to court. I have called them and told them I know it is a scam and to stop calling me.

I received the automated call again this afternoon (second time this week). When you try to call back, you get the busy tone. I have reported these calls in the past to the ATO Complaints line. They know about the scam calls, but there is not a lot they can do. So just make sure you don't give any details - if you happen to get a real person.

This is about the 5th time I have received this automated call, supposedly from the ATO, on my mobile phone. The first couple of times, I asked how they got my number and got no answer. Then they started with the automated call, which apparently goes straight to voice mail as I never hear the phone ring. I worked for the ATO many years ago and Lisa is correct, the ATO does NOT call you about tax debts and they certainly don't advise that a 'lawsuit' is being started against you, by phone. I have informed the ATO (after a complicated search to find their Complaints line) about this scam and they are well aware of it. I don't know who else we can contact - the Telecommunications Ombudsman (if there is such a person/department)?

Computer generated call from this number stating that an energy supplier is filing lawsuit against me and to call back immediately. I have contacted the company and their security team has been advised. I have also reported this number to my carrier and the Telecomm Ombudsman

I've had 6 of these calls in 3 weeks. I have never called back only listened to the automated message left - tells me about a lawsuit filed against me. Have just checked here and see that there's too much evidence of scam to make me worry. Block the number - move on.

At 8:31 pm 23/08/2016, I've got a women threatening voice message saying "This is a final call from the Australian Tax Office bla bla bla" from this phone and hung up, knowing precisely that this is a scam. No one in the government department would call me at such dining time. And I know that the Tax Office would never contact people by phone, regarding the unpaid tax.
I called back many times without success, only hearing a rubbish message or busy tone.
