I got this call they said your about to be deported..I was laughing because I have no other place to be deported, Indian voice, Please call this number back and ask can I speak to the fake taxation..then you can hear all the words in the dictionary with a f*ck in the front.

I asked where are you located, they said in my room ...if you have spare time please call them back.

A guy called me claiming from ATO (officer XX) and asked me to call back for some tax frauds. Totally rubbish. I am a retiree with no income. What a joke!

Second time, same number.. claiming to be from ATO and a lawsuit has been filed against me and basically I have to call them back and can't disregard the message. Easily to block, you scammers.

Total scam, called and said they are from the ATO and said I had committed fraud etc, they get your details from store loyalty cards etc so be careful who you give your personal details to!

Call from Officer Matthew Clark from ATO. Heavy accent, obvious scam. The ATO would mail, email you or text you to check your MyGov inbox.

Got a call from this number saying I lawsuit had been filed against me and I should call back the number. I immediately checked the number and found out similar calls had been made against other people.

Got a voicemail from a curry-muncher saying not to disregard the call because of a law suit against me. Called the number back and blasted the hell out of them. Needless to say they put the phone down. Called them again and did the same thing...Not nice when the shoe is on the other foot...

they called my mobile today on this number. strong accent and recorded message same legal threats as mentioned above. don't waste your time with this rubbish. hang up and block the number. they can't even run a decent scam it's so obvious.

Automated call asking me to call back. Claims to be from the ATO and states a lawsuit has been filed. "Please do not disregard this message". Checked online and there is no official correspondence from the ATO in my account.

I have been having a heap of fun with these guys , (02) 6176 1800 , they rang my mobile with the automated tax scam , rang back gave them a gob full, they blocked my mobile, rang back with my other mobile, gob full , blocked , rang back with the land line - for some reason they can't block the land line :) - have rung back 6 times now, it is very satisfying!!

As much as I would love to play along so they think that they go me I don't have time. Total scam, automated voice to call back ATO. I really hope no-one falls for this.

Received a voice message that sounded quite threatening telling me a law suit had been taken out against my name and that I shouldn't try to evade them. Freaked me out - bloody scum bags. Tried to call back with my number blocked but the call just ends. Thank goodness I googled it! Thanks for this website and the info provided here:)

I got that call and thanks to you guys I hung up on him. I was crying my ass off. Coz he said I was going to court after being arrested and that I could be facing a penalty of $95 to be paid and if I couldn't I was going to be in prison for 5 years. FCKN IDIOT!!!!! I have reported to SCAM WATCH.....

Yep, scam. Got a missed called from this number, and a message left saying "I need you to return my call. My name is Matthew Clark calling you from the Australian Taxation Office and the hot line to my division is..." I called back, and was greeted by an indian gentleman, who was saying that they were from the ATO, and that there was a lawsuit against me, and did I have a solicitor. I said that there was no way that there was a lawsuit against me, and that there was no evidence that this even was the ATO. I then asked them to email me some documentation with evidence that there is a lawsuit and the reasons why. And then the guy on the phone said that i'd receive documentation in the next 45 mins, and that I could call back once i'd received the documents to further discuss with someone called Matthew Clark. I hung up and proceeded to check my actual ATO online account, where I know i'm actually logging into my account. No outstanding money due, and then looked up the number here-and of course its a scam. Pretty sure I won't be receiving any documentation,.

Just got scammed this morning.. was on the verge of tears!

Today (10/8) got a call from the same number. I found it really disturbing and upset me enormously. I immediately called back but didn't give my name. I have two message from the scam ATO and both messages are identical and from Officer Mathew Clarke.
When i called back it was Toni Williams that answered -with a super thick accent

Had a call telling me to call him back as I had a lawsuit against me. Called back for fun as he called me three times and told him that I knew he was not from the ATO and had reported him. He replied with "who told you this!! " and got quite upset.... Then when I laughed he told me he liked my voice. weird bloke.
