Caller: ATO Scammer

Caller is from Canberra. Thick indian accent. Claims to be from the ATO saying you have a warrant out for your arrest for tax fraud. It's a scam! Do not call back or give any details.

Caller: Agent Ric Harrison purportedly from Australian Tax Office.

See my previous post. After several calls that rang out, call was eventually answered by Agent Ric Harrison. Without checking who I was he stated that I owed over $2,000 in unpaid taxes and that I could pay it over the phone using my mobile app, he was even nice enough to offer to talk me through the process. I asked him what my tax file number was and he replied with an obvious bogus number, when challenged at this point he hung up. Not a very sophisticated attempt Agent Ric Harrison had an Indian accent said that he was stationed in Victoria when his call originated from Canberra

Caller: Purported to be Australian Taxation Office

Said that I owed money and that I had to call back immediately else I would be arrested.
I am not sure if this was the number to call back on as I was unable to write down a number that they gave very quickly.
This is obviously a scam

I answered and there is a recorded message that i must call or they will arrest me.

Missed the call, called back and someone answered with "Australian Taxation Office, how may I help you?" 😂
