Foreign scam ATO pretend call . absolute scam !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Called at home leaving a message indicating it was from the ATO. Suggested I was being investigated for "tax evasion" which could lead to penalties etc and that I should phone back to avoid any further investigation. Warned me "not to ignore the message"! They have an Asian or Indian accent. Luckily I've never done anything to make me fear the ATO so was able to guess pretty quickly that it was a scam. It could be very upsetting for the elderly or those who are totally trusting however.
I will report it to the police on Monday.

An attempt to intimidate with the threat of a legal matter being filed against you - THIS IS A SCAM!

Called at home in the afternoon leaving a message indicating it was from the ATO. They have an Indian accent and the nature of the call would frighten a person less worldly or experienced. Terrible people.

Said there was an Affidavit on this address accusing me of Tax Evasion
