A message was left from a robotic automated service saying to call them urgently on a number otherwise there will be a warent out for my arrest.

I called back and they hung up on me.

I called the police to enquire into the apparent arrest warrant, and I was told it is a definite scam as any legit agency wouldn’t disclose an arrest warrant to the person in question.

Caller: Claiming they were from ATO

Said that my accountant has not been lodging the correct tax amount and that an arrest warrant will be sent to my home address.
My reply was that I disagree with this matter and will have my accountant contact the ATO directly.

said they were were the Taxation Office, but when I asked for their name they hung up ... this is a scam - the ATO don't initiate communications by phone.

Automatic robotic voice recording left a voicemail saying they "have an arrest warrant in your name, you must call or we'll arrest you" blah blah. Absolutely a scam.
