Another robotic message stating that a lawsuit is being taken against family.

Automated sound said I had investigating from Ato about tax fraud but when I called them back they hang up. And I ring ato office they said their were a scam.

tax fraud.. we notified but no action was taken hence lawsuit is being taken against family

I missed the call but got a message saying "Investigation team of our department is investigating you and your family. We have tried to notify you regarding this issue but we never got any response from you"
I am not game to call them back for fear that they will hack my phone.

Had a missed call from this number and they also left a robotic voicemail stating "You and your family are under investigation. As we have tried to contact you and you haven't answered we see this as an intentional tax fraud." And so on with, give us a call on (02) 6172 0193 blabla. Just block the number.

Where is the ombudsman and the federal police.. Oh I forgot.. not there.

SCAM - THREAT OF ARREST - I received calls from 2 phone numbers originating in Canberra, ACT, Australia. One call came from (02) 6100 3221 on Fri 25 Jan 2019 and from (02) 6172 0193 today, Tue 29 Jan 2019. Both were a recorded message saying i had been investigated for tax fraud, that they had tried to post something to me and that i was going to be arrested.

I received a call from this number on Fri 25 Jan 2019 and again today, Tue 29 Jan 2019.

I received a package from Singapore in late December and I'm due to receive an Australian school book delivery any day.

I will block number and report as widely as possible. I do not plan to call the number back.

same as everyone else voice message left saying I was being investigated by the ATO... looks like they are starting up in the New Year as well

I received the same message as those listed below. Robotic message threatening fraud and an investigation. Block them immediately.

They called my mobile. I didn't recognise this number (listed as in Canberra, ACT) and didn't pick up. Received a voicemail saying that there has been fraud and a lawsuit filed under my name. It said I have to call them back on (02) 6172 0193. Automated voice with American accent. LOL. Anyone else is welcomed to call and prank them so others don't get scammed.

Missed a call from this number so I was left a message that was the same as others listed here... doesn't say who's investigating you. So grateful for this site.

I had the same call as everyone else here with the same threat. Received call on the 11th Dec and just going through everyone's posting I couldn't help noticing everyone else's calls were also received in December 2018.

Just out of curiosity, i'm wondering if everyone else that received this ATO call also happen to be waiting for post packages from overseas? (nothing to do with ATO of course but a hunch where the scammer may be getting out numbers... and there must be a pattern.. perhaps foreign address names?.... etc.

They tried to call me. The caller didn't leave any message. I tried to return call, it rang for a bit, then got the hang up tone. Bummer. Was gonna have some fun, too.. :(
