They said they were the ATO and that I owed lots of money. But just kept saying she was looking at my file but wouldn't talk past that. I hung up. After searching the number to find that it is not linked to the ATO I believe it is a scam

Had a call from +261528688, which is not a valid phone itself, but assuming it is this number. It was an automated call with a voice that cut in and out, but you could pick up bits about it being from the ATO and they were starting legal action for unpaid bills. It then said to call a number, but since the voice quality was so bad you couldn't hear the entire number.

I'm calling it a phishing expedition.

Also received automated message from this number saying that the ATO was launching a law suit against me. Rang the number back repeatedly with no answer. After some internet searching have found it to be a scam. Funny though that it coincided with me lodging an application for an ABN?? Wonder if ASIC is where they are getting the phone numbers from?

It's a scam - they were the ATO today.

Received missed call today from this number. Message bank voice mail was left by a computer stating Filing Lawsuit and to call back on this number quoting a reference number. Seemed very suspicious & after looking on google found that this is a complete SCAM...... People beware.......

Had a voicemail from this number stating that someone was lodging a law suit against me and to call them back to hear more about the case. Ignored!!

Recorded message saying I will be prosecuted by the ATO and to call this number immediately for details. Total SCAM

Had a call this afternoon (WST) from this number. Said his name was Steve Martin with a very heavy Indian accent. Said he was from the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions in Sydney.

This is a scam caller pretending to the the "Crime Commission". Let the caller waffle on for a while and you soon see it is not real. Give no information and their game falls apart.
