Same thing a call from the number claiming to be Vincent Matthews an ATO investigator and that there were ATO arrest warrants out for me. Called back and got a poorly trained indian speaking person who wanted my phone number - when I said you should have my ATO number he hung up

Claims to be Vincent Mattews acting on behalf of the Australian Tax Office on an issue with pension claims. Wants to know if a letter from him (or his company???) about this impending matter going to the High Court. (Message left on 03 XXXX XXXX answer machine 30/7/15).

Just received a voicemail message on my landline that a Warrant has been issued for my arrest due to the ATO laying charges against me and requested I call him (Officer Vincent Matthews) back on (02) 6123 8639.

Total scam call, or should I say scum call. Could only understand very other word with the accent. Obviously bogus but sadly some would get tricked.

This guy claimed to be from the ATO and said that i had a warrant pending for my arrest. I called the ATO and they confirmed that this guy - JASON O'CONNOR - is a scammer.

Thanks, I just got this call, sounded soooo dodgy (Officer Richard Matthews from the ATO who has an arrest warrant for me), curious to see if others had had this one.

I received the message on a number I haven't used in 5 years (02 8002....)
Knowing it was a scam I phoned back and got to talk to Jason Matthew. He asked me for the number he had phoned but I couldn't remember it (been 5 years after all).
He had a slight American accent - sounded like an Indian trained to speak American.

He rattled off 4 charges the ATO were laying against me. When I asked him for the tax file number relevant to the charges he said he didn't have that info. I asked him how did he know the charges related to me in that case. He put the phone down and subsequent calls to (02) 6152 8639 do not even ring - just beeps. I hope his mother gets syphilis and passes it onto him.
