Just got the same - alleged unsigned return claiming superannuation deduction; under ATO surveillance, etc. Ignore

This almost gave me heart failure! I'm glad I searched the number on Google before trying to go any further with it. My message said there was an arrest warrant being issued and my residence was under surveillance. Thank you to all who have posted their experiences, I feel better now :)

Thanks everyone for posting your complaints. We just got a message in our voicemail and same intimidating and threatening message was left. I was wondering what it is about when we are up to date with our tax returns.

Absolute scam - just delete the message. Don't waste your time.

Appears to be the same scam as reported here under the number (02) 6152 8636.
It was a message from "Office Jason O'Connor from ATO" suggesting that there is a warrant for my arrest and I must call back on this number. Sounded very much like a recorded message being played back onto my answering service.

Exactly the same phone call this morning and giving the same message. Don't call back the number as this is surely a scam.

yeah thanks guys sounds like a scam. voice was garbled threats of arrest!

I rang the ATO and they said it is scam

Yes .. definitely a revolting scam pretending to be ATO!

I got same message, and also a warning that my address was under surveillance as registered mail correspondence had been returned. I gave up on trying to ring the ATO and did a web check of the number, finding this discussion. Confirmed my suspicion so ignored it.

Same... threatened arrest. Definite scam. Wanting Tax File numbers for identity theft purposes. When I asked for proof of his ID and for him to write to me, he trailed off and hung up.
