james o called. is only trouble

Jason o'connor left a slightly aggressive message about tax evasion and asked to call (02) 6140 3438. Obviously a scam!

Left 2 messages on answer machine glad I checked number and can confirm it is a scam.

I was home sick today and got a call from a private number. I was surprised that the person actually left a message. He said his name was Jason O'Connor and he was calling on behalf of the ATO as there was a case of tax evasion against our name. This is a scam. I work in an accountants office and I know for a fact that the the ATO always make contact through your accountant.

Called and left a message saying ATO had a legal suit against me for tax evasion and I needed to ring back asleep May be time to ditch the landline.

Similar to other messages in this post, the is man said I had a legal lawsuit against me and paper work was being sent to me from the ATO and local police. I asked if I could call back and he gave me this number. When I asked where he was calling from he ignored me, when I asked if he was calling from overseas he hung up on me. Scam.

Not 5 minutes ago I got the same message from Jason O'Connor. I nearly fell for it but thought I would google the phone number. So glad I did. How can we stop this nonsense?

I had the same message, ugly sounding man said his name was Jason O'Connor from the ATO, said there was a CPPD case of tax evasion and fraud. Scam.....

Had same message on answering machine. I can imagine vulnerable people would fLl for this, needs to be reported.

They left same message. ATO Tax evasion etc. I returned call but number wouldn't even dial out.

Same story. Left message on 28th May claiming Tax Evasion. Sounded like an automated message.

Just received an intimidating message from this number claiming to be from the ATO Prosecutions office in Canberra. This is a scam.

Received call from same. Thought caller had to be a scam as called themselves the Australian Taxations Office (plural). Also caller stated they were "at" Canberra not in Canberra. Anyway, good to know my intuition was right.
