Caller: Said his name was Michael Gorman (Asian accent)

The number showed up as PRIVATE and he said he was from the Australian Govt. I had been chosen to receive a grant of $1500 to spend on a holiday, shopping, etc. but NOT alcohol, gambling or prostitution! I had to keep a record of what I had spent the grant on.Gave me an approval number. He had my full name, address and date of birth, together with my land line and mobile numbers. Said he needed another form of ID like my driver's licence, passport or Medicare number. I asked for a telephone number so that I could check the validation and where he got my details. He gave me the above number and I said I would do some checking because of the number of scams. Not surprisingly, he hung up! Reported to Scamwatch. Obviously knew that I was an older person because of having my birth date and thought i would be gullible.Sounded to me like attempted identity theft.
