Caller female called to advised that someone has used my account in Tasmania bought a kettle, they knew my address, card issuer and mentioned I bought wine glasses (which I did). They wanted to check my network/computer ... lol .. I'm a IT guy. I asked for their supervisor and when I told him that I believe that they are running an elaborate scam .. he hung up. They had way too much information for my liking (OPTUS did advised me that my information was exposed in their latest breach).

"Amazon security network" - note that they will keep trying to call you back if you pick up, and they will leave a voicemail message (of just random background office noise, no speaking) to get you to call back.

Caller: Sharon and James something about a kettle bought in Tasmania (Elizabeth Street), they knew significant details about a previous "purchase" including the item delivered to me and the date of the email that was sent to me (which was actually a rewards system through my workplace) and wanted me to install anydesk on my phone/computer. I kept them on the phone for as long as I could in order to waste their time. They had my email address, phone number, full name and postal address.
Suspect an email/logistics breach, based on the information they had at hand. All of this would be information the courier or dispatch would have access to. Don't be fooled, they don't have anything other than a single record.

Caller: A woman with English sounding name but subcontinent accent hard to unserstsnd Similar story about Kettle but concerned not address on my account (which I don’t have) . Knew phone address and email (thank you Medibank) Knew I had had an oven delivered ordered through awards points. When she saw she was getting nowhere she got their security guy to call James Wilson but again subcontinent access to call. I told him he was a fake, was going to the police and hung up. 3 suspicious deductions had appeared on my credit card $6.99 for AMZNAU. Of course cancelled Beware

Caller: "Sharon Gibson" SCAM - "Sharon" called from a store called Harvey asking if I had placed an order for an electric kettle. She had my full name and said someone must have placed the order in my name. When I questioned her she got very defensive. She also said she was calling from Melbourne when her number was an 02 area code and came up on my phone as Canberra.
