I called (02) 6100 8155,she said the procedure is to make a donation first to Unicef( children foundation ) and keep the receipt, and then call them again, they will give me a 6 digit number to get $7000 from an australia bank. I believe that is a scam. I asked her to send me some paperwork from Government, but she can't . I refuse to donate the money because I believe it is a scam.

I received the same call. An Indian sounding caller. He said his name was Brian Parker from the Australian Taxation Office in Canberra. I was given a reference number and told to call (02) 6100 8155 to collect my $7000. Obviously a scam so I didn't call back. Will now report this scam to the ATO. I suspect they will attempt to get personal details and bank information if you call them. BEWARE!!

the above number I have reported it to the AUSTRALIAN TAXATION FRAUD Department please if you get them call pass it onto the TAX Office and report them

a lady called pretending to be from Australian taxation office to call this number to claim $7000 reward by the government for being good citizens and asked me to call this phone (02) 6100 8155 and said thatChristie our accounts officer will issue you the award money. When i called and asked for the money she disconnected. I ant find this number on tax office website.looks like she is on to collect people's dataor account informations

Update - I called the number and asked for proof of Identification.  They asked for my Reference number given in their initial call.  I said I would not give it to them until I had proof of their ID and that it was not a scam. I was told that their ID was in their bag, they couldn't get it right now, and that I should call back tomorrow between 11am and 5pm.  They then hung up.Interesting "ATO" Hours!

Yep, exact same call, certainly a scam, I called the return line and someone keeps hanging up, have a good mind to follow this up and report this scam to teach them a lesson

I received the same call.  Telemarketer had an Indian accent.  Told me I had won $7,000 from the Australian Tax Office as I had a good community record, no criminal record, paid my bills on time etc.I was told to ring (02) 6100 8155 and given a reference number to quote to the "ATO"  representative who would then organise the payment details over the phone straight away, and write me a cheque!No I don't really believe in Santa Clause!

I received a call from this no. (02) 6100 8155 and says that they are calling from taxation department australia. And i am sure they are not.

I want to know about this no. Bcoz they said its Australian taxation dept and get some money from us
