Caller: Tax scam

Received this morning on my mobile from someone saying they were from Australia Legal Tax Office and that there was an infringement notice for tax fraud and to call back. Of course I won’t call back and will be reporting it to the police. The government should do more to stop these calls.

It's a scam claiming they are the ATO. I have called the ATO and reported it. Don't give them any personal details

Recorded voice supposedly from the ATO telling me I had an infringement notice and to call back. If I don’t I will be arrested and put before the magistrate before being put in prison for fraud. Whatever!!! Be careful everyone.

I received the same kind of call, when I started questioning their methods and wanting to call the ATO back on the website number, the representative got very annoyed and said that I would need to go to court if I hung up. Be aware!

Tax department do not call and leave messages. If it is genuine you will receive an official notice in mail. this caller is a fraud. hang up do not answer
