Just received a call asking me to call on this number to get my share of $7400. Scam

Rang twice no answer, i left a message to ring me I was from Australian Justice Department

michael robert called me on 5th nov 2012.he told me i won money of $8600 and to claim my money i have to call on (02) 6100 3286.i called this number and lady julia williams told me pay $300 as a donation to poor children.i told her i hv a job at 2pm b'coz i got a call at 1pm.but she told me it's just for today.she told me not to tell anyone until i get my money.ok thn i went to post office and call her again.she told me to send money to india on name of hemant.this is not enought.guy told me i have to wait for 40 min but i can't.b'coz i have shift at 2:30.then he said ok iwill call u tommorrow in the morning.i didn't realize that tommorrow is saturday and no office open on weekends.he called me saturday and told me to call back on monday at sharp 10:30am.i did that.sam andrewson picked up the phone and he said in which bank u want ur money.i said commonwealth.he said ok but i for money security i need $880 to show off.u will get this money back withj $8600.ok i did tht as well but after tht he told me oh unfotunately bank manager computer is giving error.so wht i advise to u take out the money from western union.i said ok but he said i have to pay another $500 to him.but u will get this money all back together.it takes another 15 min.he made excuse after that is western union can't give this much money.but i told him tht my partner is working in western union.he said he can't take out ur money b'coz this is ur money.thn he gave me another excuse tht ok one of our officer is near to ur area.he will come to u and give all the money to u.but for tht i hv to show another $1000.i said i can't provide this money b'coz i m a student here.he said this is the last thing u have after tht u will definately get ur money.i thought tht may be b'coz of $1000 i will loose all my money which i paid today as well.so i say yes again.but no western union is open near to my home so he find out address for me.he said call taxi and go there.taxi fair they will pay whatever it is.i went there but luckily my partner called me and told me to go back home,don't send any money it's just fraud.thn i told them i want my money back tonight otherwise i call the police.i reported to the police.it's big lose for me in one day.so i am just advising u plz if get any call like that please hang up.

Scam Alert...Received the call today from "Chris Bryan" from the "ATO" also offering me a reward for being such a good citizen, paying my taxes on time!!Haha!! They gave me the number (02) 6100 3286 to call to verify, and my Application number A840. Needless to say, I didn't call...like VM, I can't beleive that they think we would believe that the ATO would be giving out handouts for being a good citizen!

I got the same message and I did not belive and told him to give some charity organiation.
Dumb, perverted people . Don't trust these scumbags.

Received a call yesterday (Saturday) from a man with indian accent claiming to be from ATO and breaking the news that the ATO was rewarding a few Aussies for being good taxpayer and not filed for bankruptcy. He wanted me to speak to his supervisor to claim the money. I asked to call him back and he gave me number (02) 6100 3286 to call and ref number A350. Called the number and was answered as ATO by an lady with indian accent and I knew this was suspicious as ATO has an automated response and you have to select an option. I said I needed to speak to some regarding the ref number and she asked for my name. I told her she should have that detail with her based on the ref number. I challenged her that it was a fake outfit and would report them and she hung up.

Received a call today from a lady with fake accent claiming to be from ATO and breaking the news that either my partner or I have won $8000 grant among 1200 Aussies for being good taxpayer and not being criminal in last 12 months (?). She wanted to confirm my address which I challenged. She was going to fax my application to Canberra office(?). When I openly said that she is not from ATO and whether I could find such scheme on the ATO Website, she gave me this phone number to contact and Ref# A526. I said I will find about it. I asked her what specific name she was going to use, she gave me my initials but could not provide specific name. After that she abruptly disconnected. I am shocked to realize how these scammers are so dumb that they don't know what every Australian taxpayer knows...ATO will never grant free money to taxpayers ever...

I got call from private no and lady told me tht i won prize for $8600.and i need to call ato's head office and he gave me phone nothts (02) 6100 3286.

I got a call from this number in the name of Australian Tax Office on 9th June (sat). Who is this scum and doing fraud in the name of ATO. Any concerned authority should be aware of this and all people.

got call from same number and same story, when I called back receiver claimed that this "Australian Taxation Office".

If we want to report this to scamwatch or ATO we have to wait for several minute on phone :(, what a nonsense you know some thing wrong is happening but difficult to report..

I got a very similar call today asking to call (02) 6100 3286 with A526 - application number , Representative name Amrita Kaur - 86 000 62 rep number.Apparently my mom was eligible to get $8000 bucks since she doesn't have a criminal record, didn't gamble or smoke or drink . She hung up on me and got highly defensive when i asked if i could get a website or some kind of information to confirm the authenticity of her claim. she made personal remarks about how as indians we shouldn't use the money for gambling etc . It sounds like a scam, hope you guys watch out.

Yes. I just got a call from a chinese guy saying I am a good citizen, pay my bills on time so I have been selected by ATO for $8600. They asked me to call (02) 6100 3286 and gave me a ref number. First I was surprised why ATO would call on a Saturday????!!! and the whole thing didn't make any sense. Then, as it has been just 4 days that I have relocated to a new place and that I  still need to inform relevant government bodies, I was shocked to see how they knew my address!!! When I asked that fool "How do you know my address when I have yet to notify" he goes "I am the government and that is my job to know!!!!". Once he hung up asking me to immediately dial the number, the fool might have thought I would do so without checking in google first. Ha ha. So please be aware of this scam.

26 June 2012, just got a phone call from East European/russsian accented female calling herself Anna williams stating that my wife was 1 of 1200  lucky people selected to win $8000 for paying her taxes and being a good citizen blahh blahh. She claimed she was from Tax office and offered to speak to me if my wife was unavailable. She gave me (02) 6100 3286 to call and ref number A526 to collect.an indian accented female tried to convince me thet this was a confidential scheme of federal government when i called he ask me u have to pay $300 at westorn union then we will give u code u can get money from bank. I suspected it was a scam and googled the phone number...here I am confirming it is a scam
