This is yet another number for the taxation dept scam telling me I will be arrested if I don't pay up!

Caller: Indian from Canberra

Said that there was a warrant out for my arrest further to an audit of my tax submissions from the last few years, then asked if I had a lawyer that coukd represent me in court. Then the line got cut off. I called back 5 times but there was no answer

Also got this call today and most definitely a scammer calling themselves ATO. Reported to authorities.

Left a robot message on my message bank telling me to call back Australian Tax Office Headquarters on this number to prevent case from going to court. Not an ATO number and ATO would contact me on MyGov.

I called back after message left. I started to inform the Indian gentleman that the call was being monitored by NSW police fraud squad and they hung up immediately.

Caller: It was a tax scam

It was a recorded call saying they were from the Australian Taxation Office and they wanted me arrested. All fake !

Caller: Scam, extortion

Pretending to be from the ATO threatening court action, just block this number.

spam that if I do not call I'll be sent to jail by taxation dept. DO NOT CALL THIS NUMBER BACK!!

I got this call also I did not pickup then I called back an Indian guy said tax office then I hung up
