Caller: I have caller ID phone - Looked suspicious so I didn't answer

Somebody in this thread said just block the number. You can't block landline numbers. Also being in the DO NOT CALL register does not stop them. They don't get fined and anyway most are calling from overseas. The only thing you can do is buy a phone with incoming call identification and don't answer privates and numbers you don't know. You can always check the number in google and if not a reported scam number, call them back.

Usual - delay - then heavy foreign accent - claimed to be ringing about the government solar energy rebate - I asked who he worked for - he claimed he worked for the federal government - I asked the government of which country - he gave a big sigh, then he hung up.

Total silence, then a recorded voice saying 'goodbye'. Bloody annoying.

2nd call this week scammers ring quick and hang up

Sick of these calls to my business many imes a day for solar
meanwhile they are sitting in a call center in another country
our goverment really needs to start doing someting about htis

Scam, said he was from Google. Indian call center in canberra,

Scum bags asking for private info threatening me I have 12 hours to pay or we will arrest you blah blah scum bags

Isn’t it wonderful. Authorities tell us they can identify those in society who have evil on their minds through phone records etc, but Telstra can not identify these pests or how the are routed through a Canberra exchange.

Guys said he was from a goverment agency.... so this is not a sales call.
When asked how they got my details, they hung up!

Overseas scammers, today it is "Solar Panel Rebate" using a spoofed national number. Diverted to spammer answering machine, I hope they enjoyed the chat with it.

Rang back, got message that the number was disconnected.

nuisance spam calls.

Phone rang. I had enough time to write the number down so I could check it. When I answered with my normal "Hello" response, the caller hung up without responding.

Fake number not hado before hung up when I answered

rings multiple times and when ansered is a computer recorded voice that just says 'goodbye'

Call centre - the long pause after I said hello. The usual drill. Not sure how many numbers can be left in Australia that aren't allocated to scammers/call centres and other slugs.

Caller with an Indian accent wanting to talk about solar installation - offering government rebates
Sounded like a firm called Green World solutions
Definitely an Indian call center Hang up on these people - most probably scammers
