I just called that number and the guy wanted my tax file number and i asked 'shouldn't you have that information'? 'you called me'? then he hung up...

As above - extremely dodgy. Would advise not to contact them.

Keep getting automated calls from this number about tax evasion / avoidance, fines, and a warrant out for your arrest, etc... - IT'S A SCAM! Don't phone them back as instructed because they try to get your personal information and bank account details, and say you need to pay a fee, etc. Hang up and don't respond.

This is a scam caller. Claims to be from ATO.

This number says they are ATO on automated message. I called them back - do not give them any details - as soon as I said I didn't have Westpac bank account to be investigated they hung up on me. Shouldn't be allowed

Beware this is one of those ATO scam numbers that says there is a warrant for your arrest.

Scam call. Said from the ATO. Threatening arrest if debt not paid.

Tried to tell me that legal papers had been served several times but no-one was home to sign for them. Accusations of tax avoidance. Gave this number, but it rang out.

This is a scam claiming to be from the ATO. It's a scam and should be treated as such. Of course, you can do what I did call them back block your number first by using 1831 and give them a few pointers as to where they could place a large sex toy.
