Scam message supposedly from ATO warning me of outstanding amounts owing

Definitely a scam

Just had the same call, and laughed at him ,he said what's funny ,I said I think you have the wrong person. and he hung up

Just had a call from an automated voice recording. Apparently, I owe money to the ATO. A scam. The number was indicated as being from Albury, NSW.

Had this call. People claiming to be ato. they are not ato.

number of calls threatening prosecution from the ATO for defrauding them - delayed answer from a call centre with indian accent. I told them Bullsh#@*, they told me I could be arrested, so I told them the call was traced and they could be arrested to which they promptly hung up. Call supposedly came from an Albury number.

Two calls this afternoon Dept of Prosecution ...... Surely something can be done about this .

I have also had a message from this number.
Not impressed that I am threatened with prosecution when it is just a bogus call.

Had a couple of calls of this nature with some threats attached

I got the same call from an Albury, NSW, number. I didn't answer and it went to my voicemail. When I listened to the message, it was a female Asian voice talking about pending legal action by the ATO against me. ATO doesn't work that way. Thanks to the above posts. I've blocked the vermin!

again scammer proposing to be ATO.....DONT CALL BACK.

I didn't answer this number so the they left a message saying to return the call as it was from the commonwealth dept of prosecution. The phone said it was coming from Albury. I rang back pretending to be an aged person and when I asked for the indian's name there was a slight delay and then he said Frank Martin. I said sure it is and called him a few choice names. I could hear other voices in the background as if it was a call centre. And people call us racists and wonder why we hate Indians???
