Caller: Indian/Pakistani scammer
He knew my name and address and stated that I was being put on a do not call register and if I verified my DOB pricing I was a senior citizen, he said if I did not provide my DOB I would be billed $350, knowing it was a scam I told him I did not want to go on the register as I liked to waste the time of those calling me trying to scam me, he got very aggressive and said that I had no choice in the matter and would be placed on the register, he only terminated the call when I called him a low life curry munching scammer

Indian man called claiming to be from Telstra.
Saying my IP address had been changed from Private to Public and I needed to turn my computer on. Told him I would ask my IT people to look into it, said I was "wasting his time" and hung up.

It's got so bad that we no longer pick up calls on our landline. Our family know to call our mobiles. We already have a 'do not call' number, but it makes little difference as they're calling from out of the country. Usually using 'hijacked' numbers so Telstra can do nothing to block them. Who needs a landline anymore?

Still doing the same scam on this number in June. Great to have Reverseaustralia to alert people to these bogus calls. We no longer answer interstate or unknown mobiles on the landline but we avert dvt's by getting up and down to the phone! :)

Scam call. They have foreign accents. They ask you if you are the owner of the internet accounts and then go into a spiel about your exchange being upgraded so that your internet will be running faster. They use IT words and numbers to try to trick you into believing that they are legitimate. I started asking them questions about which exchange the work was done on and what the result will be. I must have annoyed them so they hung up. Better me wasting their time than they scamming other people. They hadn't asked me for any personal information but maybe I hadn't given them the chance. Watch out!

Indian sounding scammer. Said he was from Telstra and they were upgrading the line. Wanted me to turn my computer on. I told him I didn’t have one, only iPad. He was a bit taken aback then asked me to log on to my iPad at which point I hung up on him.

I work for a car company and we had a call today, knew it was a SCAM.
They wanted me to get up my IP address as they said it had been changed from private to public.
They asked if I was the main resident of this address and I said you have called a business, can you prove to me you're from Telstra.
Hung up on me.
