Caller: A Charity Cause supposedly doing a survey

I have an unlisted Telephone Number, so where do they get the information from?

Claimed to be charity, but I suspect it's a scam.

They can simply use a sequential dialler, which dials the next number in a sequence. They don't need to know it's an in-service number. Also, it's possible that a company you've dealt with, has had their client information hacked, which can then be sold and re-sold on the balckmarket.
