SPAM suspected.

Received a call from this number, showing up as coming from Bathurst, New South Wales. The number is not on my contacts list and they didn't leave a message so I guess its a spam call. This number will be blocked.

Caller: Said they are from Telstra

An person saying they were from Telstra wanting to talk to me about my Internet plan. When I said I'm not with Telstra, they hung up.

The caller knew my name but hung up when I answered. Bathurst, NSW

As other posters mentioned, this is a number used by scammers. They have a few different scams running from this number including pretending to be your bank or pretending to be NBN/Telstra. All scams are trying to get you to allow remote access to your computer for them. You should never allow anyone to log into your computer for you or give them any access to multifactor codes from your phone. Just block this number if they call.

Called claiming to be from the Chinese embassy about a visa application. Blocked the number.

Caller: Scammer pretending to be from Commonwealth Bank

Person introduced themselves as being from Commonwealth Bank. I stated confidently that I didn’t think they were calling from Commbank. He sighed loudly and hung up on me. (I do t have accounts with them).
