Caller: Thought it was Garmin support

Having problem with updating Garmin GPS. Chat box opened and offered support with phone call back. Appeared to fix problem but attempted to sell Webroot and installed on my computer. Then emailed invoice for payment.

Same yesterday - I accessed Garmin to update my GPS - the site wasn't the same and nothing would work as it used to. Up popped the CHAT and said I needed technical support so they rang my phone number twice. First time he said he would go away and check something and call back. I explained what I was doing and nothing was happening as it used to and was told "the whole system has changed" - thought that was a bit strange - took over my computer but when the big virus signs came up - and he said he was having trouble acccessing my computer. I have an incredibly reliable security system and I knew something was wrong. Disconnected and did security scan asap. Yes his name was SAM. Does Garmin know they have a these guys have a totally believable site in GARMIN's name????

got scammed on Garmin. Got pop up for help, they offered to call me back, then took remote access to my computer, then the "head tech guy" called, still remote accessing. Spent 2 hours trying to fix, thousands of trojans, sold me a cleaner, did a clean, however they didnt want bank details so I thought it was legit. Now what do I do?

Pricks got me too. Got into my computer telling me I had 4100 Trojans. I read this and disconnected them. I thought because it was through Navman it could be trusted. Should have realised it wasn’t because it’s Indian.

Unf*ckingbelivable! 🤦‍♂️

These are definitely scammers, we tried to update our Garmin maps and an online chat requested our phone number for garmin support to call. they installed remote access software on our computer and when we realised what they were doing terminated the call with them. Before we could shut down them trying to load the software on our computer they reset the password on our pc and restarted it. They then called back and wondered why they couldn't access out computer, to which we told them they were scammers and we were reporting them. The site they were using at that time has since been shut down after our conversation with them.

Caller: 100% Fake - Garmin Tech Support

Scammers pretending to be Garmin Tech Support.
I was updating maps in my GPS and a web chat appeared immediately. She forcefully insisted on having a Garmin Tech phone me which they did. My spider senses were tingling when the tech wanted remote viewer control of my computer to install software. I became more insistent than her that this wasn't going to happen. I terminated the phone call at that stage.

Called after an online discussion with what I thought was Garmin apparently fixing my problem but also selling a virus protection program
