A male with accent indicated that he was from Telstra and that they had discovered an issue with my internet. He wanted me to reset my modem then and there. I indicated that I don’t have an account with Telstra and apparently according to him, I should know that all Australia’s internet went through Telstra’s servers. I was forcefully informed that if I didn’t comply, my internet would be turned off. I wished him well in turning off my internet and he hung up on me.

Called and said he was from Telstra technical department and wanted to offer me a free security check asked me to log onto my team viewer. Told him I thought he was a scammer and he disconnected the call.

Unknown caller - no message left.

Caller: Telstra Indian Scam

Tell them how convenient as you are also a Telstra Technician - then listen for the "Click" as they hang up - if you are really fortunate like me they will swear at you in Hindi - just laugh - it really seems to irritate them...............good luck.

A male with a thick accent who said he was from Telstra to fix my internet issue. He asked me to turn on my computer. Never asked my name or identified me in any way. Kept calling me Ma'am so I assumed he was dodgy and hung up. I had just spent 49 minutes on the phone to Telstra so I was concerned he may have been the real deal so have just spent another 25 minutes on hold to Telstra to find out if he was at all affiliated with them.
