They called & hung up. On ring back rung out. Other times engaged

Rang and hung up. i have rang back but engaged then rang out. Be very careful as could be casing your joint.

The phone rang three times and stopped before I got to it. I suspect the two earlier calls today were the same - one ring then a hang-up. I rang back and the number was either engaged or rang out.
