Well I just set my phone system up to divert calls from this number back to itself, see how they like it

Caller: FROM Wollongong NSW .. a Female, Indian accent re “from GOVT” about Solar Panels

Polite caller from (apparently) Wollongong NSW, calling - her words not mine - from ‘the Government’ about Solar Panels..
I told her we live in a block of flats.
Usually they disconnect without so much of a ‘thanks’ or ‘goodbye’ often while you’re still talking BUT this person was very polite, said thank you & ‘sorry for troubling you’

The male caller said he was calling about the federal government solar rebate.

Indian female claimed to have received information concerning a vehicle accident I was in. I informed her I have not been in an accident of any type for over thirty years. I don't have a licence or vehicle. I do not appreciate being rung by scammers as I am on the fo not call list. If she hasn't hung up by the time I have finished counting backwards from ten. I will report the number on my screen and escalate legal proceedings. She just kept talking. I see by other comments that the same number is linked to a solar panel scam. Bloody scammers.

Hanged up as soon as answered, been getting similar Solar calls at meal times lately.

About solar panels or if I’m eligible for them. I told them to call back tomorrow to talk to my parents. And then they called again using a different number (02) 8311 9164 to ask if my parents have come back.

Didn't answer number as I didn't know it. Blocked the number straight away.

Called& hung up when I answered. Tried calling no back - Wollongong no. But says disconnected. Have blocked no.

I find it crazy that I have had 6 weird phone calls in the last 2 days from other numbers. I live in Wollongong but do not no anyone overseas. Scam

Another disappointed telemarketer/spammer/scam artist.....

I have Telstra Call Guardian....a $70 Cordless phone (2 handsets, 1 charging base) & answering machine. If the caller is not on my Personal Contact List the caller is immediately prompted to announce themselves, press the # key, & wait until I either answer, or it goes to my answer machine. If they don't announce themselves the call will not be put through, matter in fact, my phone never rings unless they announce themselves & press the #, which then sends the call in & I hear the first ring. I can decide to either answer, let it go to the machine, or outright block that number for all time (unless I remove the block a another time). Bottom line, I am never bothered by callers I don't know, or who don't have my permission to call through. I goth my Call Guardian Phone System brand new from Telstra about a year ago, & honestly I haven't had an unwanted call since the day I hooked it up & entered all my Personal Contacts.......best $70 I ever spent.....BTW, you can get them on ebay (usually reconditioned) for less......99% of Telemarketers, SPAM/SCAM Callers don't want to announce themselves, so they never get to me.....as I don't get/hear a ring until announce & press the # key.....It keeps a list of all the callers that don't get through....so I know it's working. ;-)

solar rebate sceme, i said i had 14 panels for 2 years, she said sorry to bother you.Its not what its about they ring from multi nos. from every recent scam tax office, nbn will cease in xhours, warrant for you, and others.

Number calls repeatedly. No one speaks once the call is answered.
