Claimed to checking on credit card payment for a purchase asked to press 1 to confirm payment and 2 to talk to a representative, I don't have a credit card so number needs looking at

Claimed to be from Visa and Master Card Security Department verifying ..............
I didn't answer and this is when the message ended. No other message, no followup call.

Just received a call from this number. Definite Visa and Mastercard scam.

Caller: Male voice, Australian accent

The same experience as others above. Left a robot message supposedly from Visa/Mastercard Security. (Would both operate in the same office??). Scammer pretending to protect me from a scam! Mentioned my 'recent transfer 'of over $6000 via Western Union. (I've never used Western Union or sent large amounts of money anywhere, and my accounts show no one else has done that either. ! Will report this to Scamwatch, as it is clearly underway this month.

Re credit card transfers as before scam scam

Definitely a scam. This was an automated message claiming to be from the VISA & Mastercard Security Department. Querying the transfer of some unintelligible amount (six, 1 thousand, 1 hundred) to Western Union.

I didn't answer but they left a msg. Claimed to be from Visa and Mastercard and were questioning a payment I mad for $601,100 to Western Union!

Had the same type of call just a few minutes ago with the same message - good to know that they were targeting someone else too which confirmed my suspicion that it was a hoax call - thanks.
