received a call - with automated voice saying a gift card for $299.00 was purchased - if this is me press 1 if not press 9 - then a international answered telling me a gift card has been purchased via my ebay account- I dont have a ebay account defs scam

Caller: eBay scam I did not answer, but they left a voice mail. The recorded message was clearly intended for someone answering live. It said they were calling about a 'suspicious' eBay transaction and to press buttons to verify/report/talk to someone about it. (eBay transaction did not actually exist.)

Received call from this number. Caller purported to be from the Australian Taxation Office claiming that I am in legal trouble.
Caller with Asian accent couldn't tell the difference between a surname and first name and frankly I got tired of himand hung up before we got to the point of the scam.
