Fake calls from telstra

Caller: Peter??? but very broken english

says he's from Telstra and for being a loyal customer i get 30% off my bills for the next 6mths. Sent me a SMS (comes up from telstra in my phone - and has other telstra msg's there too) with a code. wanted me to read him back the code. I hung up and called telstra and they said it was a scam.

Caller: Scammer pretending to be telstra

Same as everyone else. Received a text message from Telstra and then they called from this number needing the pin.

I got the same. Received the legit Telstra text first (guessing the scammer somehow triggered a password reset) followed a minute later by a call from this number (which i didnt answer). Suspect if i had, he would have asked for the "one time PIN" that Telstra had sent me in order to access my account. CHEEKY!!
