Claimed to be from the ATO that I was subject to legal action.....nice one idiots...I work for an accounting firm

Called to say they're from the ATO, talking about a refund owed to me and wanted bank details.
They didn't enjoy being told they weren't getting anything from me and to stop being rude f*cks if pretending to be from the ATO. I called them back as soon as they hung up on me and they DEFINITELY didn't enjoy that. But I was having so much fun...

SCAMMM. Said he was from the ATO. DEFINITEY WASNT. Block this number.

Calling from ATO, your tax refund for last FY is 900 something, you will recieve it withing 2-3 days (I havent filled it yet). Asked to confirm mastercard/visa card details for refund processing. Hung up.

when i called back they said they are ATO - they aren't

same thing happened to me just now, and after I questioned them from the ATO as its not a private number which it should've been, the Indian accented man said "f** you b***"

Called and left no VM. I called back and guy said he was from ATO. I was silent, he kept asking hello? Then he hung up. I called back, same male voice answered and said "John Mitchell's desk of the ATO". I hung up. I then called back a second time, a different voice was on the line (but it sounded like the same person put on a different accent). There seemed laughing / noise in the background and unprofessional environment. I said I was from the ATO. They replied with "But we're from the ATO so how can you be?" Definitely a scam and someone playing funny buggers. Don't fall for it.

Rang his number back and got an male person (Indian accent) saying - thakn you for calling Australian Tax, can I help you? I hung up. thanks for the feedback

They said they are from ato and there were legal action against for fraud, they said do you want to leave for legal action or pay for it , told them I will have a look at my ato account and deal with that way, soon as I said that they hang up that very second .... definitely scammer

Said they are from ATO however had to say hello for a good 45 seconds before someone started talking. SCAM

Got an Indian guy saying he was from the ATO and he was Officer so and so and every 5 years the ATO conduct random audits on citizens. I laughed and the “gentlemen” said “why you laugh motherf*cker?”. He went on to say I get f*cked from behind and called me a slut. Very random and he ended up hanging up on me after a while. 100% scam number

said he was from the tax department and they made a mistake, asked for my visa number to refund me the difference.

Money as tax return when I respond straight away they are asking about my debit card and need it urgently .some how I managed the situations and didn’t provide any details from my end
