Caller: Scam automated message from the ATO This automated message lasts for about 30seconds, claiming that I have been reported for committing tax fraud, and that I will face heavy fines and jail time if I do not respond. The message goes on to say that a representative from the ATO is waiting for me, demanding that I speak to the individual. I have checked with the ATO, and this is all nonsense, but I can understand how a person would otherwise freak out.
