You wonder how many times this has to be said. The Do Not Call Register (whose staff must be driven nuts) exists to prevent unwanted cold calling by Australian companies, not to prevent scam calls from people who can't be traced and who are often calling from overseas numbers. If scam calls could be stopped by people simply registering their phone numbers, we wouldn't have so many people suffering losses as a result of the scams.

had 9 calls in 3 days , 2 after 7pm. answered 3 only expecting other calls, 1 call computer hacked, 1 call nbn to be disconected, 1 call landline hacked hung up did not speak to the caller , am now letting all calls go to answering machine. we are on the do not call register useless/

This number called today. Automated message in a female voice with good English said it was a security issue regarding my internet and to get more information to press 1. After waiting a few seconds for me to press 1 (which I didn't) they hung up. A scam for sure.

was a recorded message about my landline being disconnected... so over these calls and think its time the govt stepped in to stop them....

fed up with these calls why are we on the DO Not Call register it is useless

A person with poor English called and so I told them I knew it was a scam and hung up

Really do not understand why they keep calling. Do they think people are that stupid to fall for these types of calls - vulnerable older people i feel sorry for as they do not either have internet or mobile phones and rely on the old fashioned way.
I wish they would stop harassing us and i wish there was a way we could get these people arrested. I'm over the calls day in day out! Getting to the point i wont answer the phone unless they leave a message but then that is bad for our business!

New Zealand uses +64 as their country code I found out later ..... i didn't answer 064 317 512 437 so cannot tell you more... this was the first time they had called my line on July 11th 2018
