To get rid of this garbage, End Task under Processes tab "Play thru Player 32 bit" in task manager (ctrl alt del) then delete the following folder and its contents
c:\Program Files (x86)\PlaythruPlayer

Clear your browser history and caches.

Used MS Edge and an ad.click tab opened up which then produced a pop-up window saying:
This Site says...
System Detected Security Error, Due to Suspicious Activity Found On Your Computer. Contact System Certified Live Technicians 1-800-764-708 (Toll Free)

Unable to get Edge working again I rang it and was told there is a one off fee. I said the OS is free, the fix will be free. The "tech" argued with me so I knew it was a scam straight away.

Typical "technical support" scam, will ask you to install a rootkit and remote access software on your machine so they can "fix" it. Spoiler: they aren't going to fix anything.

Interesting: this phone number is the same for the contact number for this website:
http://www.australiangovernmentgrantsloans.org

Appears to be "genuine", but it's only been registered since December 2014...

A friend was just contacted by these people claiming to be from Microsoft Support. His computer was behaving strangely before the call, so he thought it was legitimate, but then became suspicious when they connected to his laptop and said that Kaspersky Antivirus is no good, and that he should by a USD$400 alternative. It is a SCAM!

Got a suspicious email from these guys claiming I am entitled to some grant for being a good citizen. I would receive the money if I were to pay a processing fee of $150 through paypal.

DO NOT MAKE ANY PAYMENTS OR GIVE THEM ANY PERSONAL DETAILS. Seems like a scam from the Philippines or some Asian country.

Watch out people, steer clear of this one.
