Called and offered a free upgrade to fibre optic plan as my NBN. went through a couple of questions about speed - I have been having problems now I get this call so seemed legit for a start. THEN she asked me to go to Playstore on my phone thats when I asked for a call back and a reference number - which she provided. Checked the Internet found this 1800 726 905 is a scam

They said i am not getting the optimum nbn speed and there is a free upgrade to fibre and wanted to connect to my computer.
Didn't let them do that and told them I'll call telstra.
When asked for their number she gave 1800 726 905.

Called from 0410 132 195 claiming to be from Telstra Technical advising that our internet had been hacked by overseas people. Felt dodgy as no customer verification information was asked for and wanted me to log onto my computer. Also there was a lot of traffic noise in the background.
When I said I would call back - she gave me 1800 726 905, but when I asked how I would reach her directly and if I needed a receipt or reference number, she hung up the call.

Knew it was a con. Asked for his name and number - Peter Wilson, but obviously subcontinent accent. Said my internet had been compromised. I said goodbye and hung up. He rang me back. I gave him the same response and hung up again. He rang me back again! In the end I left the phone off the hook and he finally hung up.

Caller: Girl said from Telstra Melbourne
Call form foreign (Asian) woman to tell me my Telstra internet was compromised. Said I wasn't with Telstra and she told me that Telstra provides to other internet users. I asked what was wrong and she said that downloads had been compromised. I asked for her phone number and she gave me 1800 726 905. I said I would return her call after I checked my computer. (ha Ha) I rang the number back and it said it was Telstra in Melbourne and proceeded with a voice message talking about new mobile phones etc and to go to Telstra website to look at the new products. then said line was busy and to leave my number for them to call me back.
Talk about a Scam Beware!!!!

Caller: Mike Nel from Teelestra HO Technical Division at Melbourne - 1800 726 905
The initial message was that my internet will be cutoff.
A person introduced himself as Mike Nel said that my ip address has been compromised and people oversees are using it to do bad business.
I told him to call back. So far he has not called back.
I called my service provider and they said my service is fine and Mike Nel is a hacker

Thrashing my phone the last two weeks despite me telling them I'm smarter than they will ever be, so they should give up the scam routine because it won't work. Slimy dogs need to go out an earn an honest dollar instead of scheming and trying to steal other peoples hard earned money. How are these phone numbers not getting disconnected by Telstra or whatever company connected it??? Seems with the number of calls they put out they should stick out like a sore thumb after not very long and make it clear that they are criminals. As long as they are paying the bill though I guess Telstra. With other peoples money they stole....
