Agreed. What is worse is how they took over control of my browser and only way to cancel their annoying pop-up so-called "BSOD alert" window is to use task manager to force shutdown of browser. Me screaming.........

Make sure you are not running Windows. If you are running Ubuntu, you can a have a lot of fun with these scammers. Make sure you dial 1831 before the 1800 number so they dont know who you are. They will then ask what is your phone number. Here is a public telephone box number: (03) 6234 2473

Have had a pop up several times today saying BSOD Error 333 Registry Failure. Gives a number to call - but as I keep my security software updated I know it was nothing I have done so presumed it was just another goddamn low life scammer.. Running a full security sweep. Will be checking my phone and internet bills & if I am billed for any premium calls or SMS's it will be handed to the police to investigate their fraud. I never use these services ever.

I called the number and then my partner came in and told me to hang up straight away and said it was a scam.
When I called it said "Your call is important to us, please stay on the line while we connect you". I was only on for about 1 min.

I allowed them to do the scan. Problem all started when I tried to download Adobe reader and got all this junk with it. I asked this indian guy if he had nothing to do with the virus how come edge (windows 10) was asking me to call 1800 720 099. He said that windows automatically goes to the best company to fix this problem. I got an address from him saskatoon canada. His final words he typed to me in notepad was mother f*cker. charming piece of sh*t.

Download and run either Malwarebytes or Spybot search and destroy. That will catch any virus loaded into your computer

I had a message stating Trojan (TRJ . Dealware.stealth) has been injected into your computer. I tried to call the number and he gave a me a proce of $320 to fix it.
I looked on Fed gov website and it stated it was a scam

I kept them on the phone for a good 30-45 minutes whilst they tried to get me to allow remote access to my PC. Pretty funny. Remember to give them the phone number of your local police station then hang up unexpectadly. I just like messing with them and pretending that I don't have a clue what's going on. They wanted $140 to fix my computer. I fixed the browser hijack myself. They also gave me another number to call them back on 1800 776 712 which is also a scam!

I was dum enough to call the number and give them the details of my computer and they took control of my computer but they were doing so I looked up the number and ended up seeing this website and quickly shut the computer down just by pulling out the power but they did have access for a good 2 or 3 minutes now I'm stressing coz I don't know what they might have done

Don't let them gain access to your computer. I just followed Anthony's guide to close the program using task manager. Then run the full scan (you will find out that it blocked the malware, mine did it), I used paid version, don't know if it makes a difference. This guy claimed to be from Microsoft, but surely he's scammer.

I have had the same warning on my computer. I use a very good anti virus, but didn't detect This. How do you get riid of it? had to turn computer off as it wouldn't allow me aout oaf browser!

URL highjack tried to removed this from google chrome using ie now instead , Chrome constantly gets extension highjacks

i called the number and once i realised it was a scam i hanged up, the indian guy called me back 3 times, i didnt give my number to him

A student at the school I work at came in with an error on their laptop that was telling them to call this number. They apparently had called it, and figured it was a scam. I have not called the number (for safety reasons), but I verified the computer was perfectly fine, though I had to uninstall some adware from the laptop.

My web browsers have been hijacked by www.searching.com and one of the programs installed by the hijack software locks the screen and tells me to call this number, which looks like a scam to me, but I do not seem to be able to get rid of it from the Windows edge browser. Any tips?

We experienced the same issue today - They then logged onto scam advisor.com to show us that they had a trust rating of 78% but could not understand when we said that was not high enough for us to use. - after removing their alert - they went on with a somewhat scripted sales pitch for what we needed and how much it was going to cost us.
