One of our practitioners agreed and gave credit card details to Volunteer Workers Review for an advert costing $709.50 using an advert taken directly from our website while I was on annual leave. When I returned from leave there was another request for advertising addressed to the same practitioner from Safety In Industry similar advert $874.50!!!! Faxed back saying we were declining their offer and then had daily calls from Pam Crosby wanting to speak to our practitioner, never put the calls through for obvious reasons until she finally said she would send him an e-mail. I check his e-mails and nothing has ever been sent! I think she got the message.Couldn't find either company on the internet until I stumbled across this page.

Mess with them? The fun begins with a 'cheque' going in the mail tomorrow to the publishes of Kids Headspace journal but it's not a paper cheque, it's a steaming turd that was yesterday's Indian food. I even sent them an email saying the cheque is in the mail, please call when you have it just so I know it got there. I can't wait to hear from them. Next time, it'll be something worse.

Said we approved advertising in their magazine and that it has already gone to print but they have not received payment of invoice. We did not give approval and so I refused payment until they could send us proof of written approval from us and the invoice... I have not ever received an email from them. "John" gave me the email adsprod @ bigpond.com or .net whatever. I punched this into google and found this gem of a page. Now I hope he rings me back so I can have some fun with this little scammer man. He sounded like an elderly gentlemen.

BUNCH OF WANKERS!!! I DON"T KNOW HOW TO STOP THEM RIPPING US OFF!! THEY SHARE OUR DETAILS, TAKE THE MONEY AND THEN INFORM US AFTER THE FACT!! THEY HAVE ALSO CHANGED THEIR NUMBER TO 1800 016 190.

The cheated us the first time as we had dealt with another agency & there was a slight confusion but have kept using our details since then.
Mitch called and faked to be an accountant but didn't give any more details stating sorry he was late & he will send the invoice now & that was it. I will be reporting all these false publications!!!

I work for a small business in Tasmania. We have recently received calls from "Statewide Emergency Services" demanding payment for advertising. They then sent us a copy of the magazine (rubbish quality, advertising in black and white like it was stapled to a legitimate publication) and a dodgy looking invoice. We are diligent with advertising, and why on earth would we agree to a QLD publication anyway? But they tried to say that we agreed in January. They continually call my boss who refers them to me to deal with - they then call me and say that he told them that I would pay the invoice! They sound so professional - would be easy to get sucked in! I have reported them to ScamWatch twice now. Hopefully that sorts them out!

Safety Awareness in the Community. be danged if I remember authorising an ad in this fine magazine.(which I could find no trace of on google)......Well I didn't. the nerve of these mongrel scammers. The old "this is not an invoice", please sign terms of agreement (which there are none), and pay now, The proof was the most ridiculous picture I ever have seen, and I supposedly supplied it and agreed to it 5 months previous. Like all Business people, we work hard for our money, and giving it to thieves is not a good feeling. I have reported these people to scamwatch and government orgs.

My friend has a shop and has now had two of these "publications" which they haven't paid even though they have been threatened with debt collectors. The latest one I looked at yesterday was 'Volunteer Rescue Forum". There were "ads" inserted as an insert in the middle and it the printing on the "ads" pages was textured indicating they had been printed separately from the rest of it. I would suggest that there are only the same number of inserts printed as "ads". On looking at the pictures they used one was that taken from a postcard I had received many years ago and I'm sure the owner of that image wont be too happy when I contact him about it. There was a picture of an Emergency Services tender which is manned by personnel paid by the government. While they are a dedicated team and do a great job they are employees and not volunteers. The picture of the people with the pelican were National Parks Rangers whose organization was not mentioned and also are all paid employees of the government not volunteers. The Wilderness Society is about advocacy on environmental issues rather than individual animal rescues so the scammers got that wrong with the pictures in their section. Very wrong was the consistent reference to Surf Lifesavings (plural) in the headings and the correct term- surf lifesaving (singular) in the cut and pasted from websites articles. I am wondering did anyone who received this "publication" notice the one thing that confirmed this as a scam??? On the cover there is Isaiah 61 repeatedly printed on the orange background band. All organizations misused in this "publication" are not religious organizations and are not allowed to promote any one religion. If you contacted each of the organizations and asked them about it I am sure each one would say that the use of the band is highly inappropriate. Maybe that could be a way of getting something done about catching these scammers if the organizations themselves lodged complaints about being promoted with religious references? The one question I think everyone should ponder is are and where these "publications" are distributed and I'm sure the answer is that they are not. Not one of 22 titles if have seen listed in the scam forums would ever have seen the light of day except in the hands of the intended victims! Stay alert! Stay safe! Small business owners work too hard for their money! Cheers x

Australian Emergency Services Magazine called me and asked me to sign a ad contract last Feb, they called and pushed me to do so while I was so busy with the business, I didn’t think much because I just thought that was a support for the emergency services. However, after that I can’t contact them, I tried many times, even emailed them to cancel the service but no one replied. I paid for the first invoice, not wanting to be disturbed anymore. But today they send me another invoice, I was so shocked, I tried to contact them to cancel the service and not pay for this one, but hopeless. Who should I report them to?

Kudos Suanne. I have had Milton Graham harrasing me since 2/2020 for the same scam except I paid six other invoices before realising it was a scam. I'm a dingus because I believed that I had made a couple of agreements but was confused who I paid and when and just gave in because it was like a charity.
He started the company in 2016 and is still scamming. How is this allowed i wonder

We are a small business in NSW and have been contacted by several of these scams claiming to be different publications. At first I bought into it as I agreed on the phone to help out. It was only 6-12 months later that I received numerous calls from different community awareness scams claiming that I agreed over the phone.

They scammed us back in 2018, and worked out it was a scam, because I asked them for confirmation, either a name or email of who authorised the advertising, but could not provide, asked them for a Purchase Order number which we always used, and could not provide. The advert was rubbish, didn't even use our logos or comply with any of our style guides, so knew it was a scam even just from that.

They then listed a default against our business which I found this week when trying to finance a new car.

So far this year i have had 47 phone calls telling me i had agreed to ads in magazines. At first i paid a few but then took a stance and told them all i would not be paying for ads i didn't agree to. I thought that would be it but they keep on calling and i noticed amounts had been taken from my business account without my consent and have had to cancel my card and now have to reorganise my accounts to the new details. These people are scum and have no respect for others. I am trying to get some payments back through the bank but won't hold my breath.
