"Australian Advisory Services" rang from a "Private Number" offering "Aust. Government Benefits for 2016". Having nothing pressing to do, I led him on. He asked if we would be working for next 5 yrs, if we owned home or had mortgage, etc. My answers were not exactly truthful but I was VERY nice & "naive"). Then he said he was putting me through to this "Manager", who came on the line and when asked said his name was LEANDER COSTA, from Perth WA. Gave phone number 1300 781 638. He quoted our road name and suburb address but said there had been an error and what was our "door number" (sic). Wanted us to make an appointment for tomorrow for a representative that would be in our area, to advise us on benefits such as tax claims on some "50 - 55 Government benefits" from which we would qualify for "20-25". He said they were 10% subsidised by the Government and their representatives were "volunteers". No obligation, can take all to our accountant. We said we would ring him back to organise a time for tomorrow. Google search reveals Australian Advisory Service (note - singular not plural) web site showing ph number 1300 781 638. When rung, a message says "we regret the number you have dialled is temporarily out of service". Refer "scam" sites - e.g. "Whirlpool".
