They sent me 2 letters demanding $500 and $600
A week later emails....
Asking for a debt that was sorted 3 years ago by the ombudsman and the gas company as it was proven incorrect.
I don't have any paperwork left on the matter and have speech impediments I can't speak well over the phone.
What are the options of telling them this debt was settled without any paperwork...I just didn't think after all these years I needed it.

Thank-you for the info on this so called Company.
Today I opened a letter from these scammers...The letter was not for me,but for an
overseas student who stayed with me as my guest.
, about 18 months ago.
The letter demanded an amount of nearly three hundred dollars, for APG ??? Power.
Needless to say,the said student, was not paying for power at my home.
Has anyone reported them to the ACCC ??

Contact The Financial Ombudsman Service and bring the Commonwealth Bank back into the Conversation. FOS provide a great service. You can sort out the matter with CBA and report Panthera Finance at the same time. Its only a matter of time until ASIC act on them anyway.

Thank you very much for this informative information. My company Director has recently received bills that we know for sure are not owed from this Company. After research it is clear this is a bogus unethical organisation. DO NOT PAY ANYTHING THAT THEY BILL YOU FOR. BE WARNED. Once again, thanks for the information. I'm hoping someone can help me with the Panthera Finance Debt I have...
My story is the same as all the ones i have seen here, the harrassment just got too much and I caved in to their threats.
I've been paying this debt for a year and a half now.

In June 2016 I called PANTHERA to see what my balance owing now was and this is where I have realised there is no point in paying this debt any longer and I'm hoping someone can inform me of how I can stop paying without further hassles or guide me of how i can get some justice.

The Debt was a Commonwealth Bank Credit Card, In my name so i'm responsible for the debt,despite the circumstances surrounding the debt which were no fault of my own, I accept responsibility.

Listed below are the figures I have worked out based on the conversation I had with a staff member from Panthera Finance June 2016.

The initial debt was $17,032.04 AS OF THE 28/8/2015
26 Fortnights @ $50,00 = $1,300 a year
Total debt owing AS OF THE 4/8/2016 is $18,077.68

The debt after a year of paying has increased by over $1,000....How can that be I asked???
Based on the information provided to me by Panthera, what I'm about to share with you all is unbelieveable but true.

From the yearly amount of $1,300 Paid... ONLY $204.36 (approx) comes OFF the INITIAL DEBT
The Balance of $1,095.64 (approx) is for the INTEREST that I'm being charged @13.49% DAILY

Based on this information these people are going to charge me $1,300 a year for 83.34 YEARS with an amount TOTAL OF $108,341.99 providing the interest stays @ 13.49% Daily and doesn't rise in those 83.34 years.

FIGURES AS FOLLOWS::
$204.36 x 83.34 years = $17,031.36 (This is as close as I could get to starting amount)
$1095.64 x $83.34 years = $91,310.63
DAILY INTEREST @ 13.49%
TOTAL AMOUNT I'M PAYING IS $108,341.99

For a starting debt of $17,032.04 that final amount of $108,341.99 is 6.361 times the original amount....For a company who would have paid between 5 and 10 CENTS MAXIMUM in the DOLLAR (information provided by a Financial Councillor) For the ORIGINAL debt is Absolutely Ludicrous and Complete Highway Robbery. Double the amount you may expect but NOT 6.361 times the amount.

SO I WANT OUT.....CAN ANYONE HELP ME PLEASE...

Mitch from these guys keeps harassing my elderly parents, he started by saying he was a friend of mine to get my mobile number from them, now he continues to call them even though they told him I moved out years a go. I am reporting this to the right federal agencies and hopefully they can stop misleading people and harassing elderly relatives. I'm just getting started with this group!

I had exactly the same experience on Saturday as Vanessa - someone called my other half's phone and tried to bully my phone number out of him. I was then left a message to call him back with a reference number. The man I was supposed to call back (Matt) got particularly aggressive when I refused to hand over my DOB; I then asked to speak with a supervisor who was likewise aggressive and rude. It was a cold call and there was no way in hell I was handing over my DOB. They claim to have sent me a letter prior to the call, which I have not seen. As far as I know, I owe no-one anything and no-one has the right to call me out of the blue and ask for my DOB and then get aggressive and abusive when I refuse. Stinks of a scam to me and I will likewise be referring this to the Finance ombudsman and the telecommunications ombudsman as my phone number, and all the numbers on my phone account are listed on the do not call register.

Advise call and record you have spoken to this company.
Call the company the debt belongs to
Then call the ombudsman.
I was called on an apparent debt from 2004.
I had dealt with this debt in 2012.
In 2016 the idiots with no understanding of the law tried to bully me.
No proof of the debt.
Lied about the debts dates.
I told origin this is fraud and then called ombudsman.
Debt has been cleared.
These people should be out of business.
Scammers
Beware
Oh and a short google search tells you abn.
Abn look up tells you more.
Everything about them is on the web.

Got one today, they told me to remove my dying wife's feeding/breathing tube to work this out.
They wouldn't tell me who they were, I knew by their heavy handedness it was a Debt collector and Googled the mobile number (joys of having a Police Officer father and a Lawyer for a brother, you learn stuff..lol)

Strangely though she's never had anything to get a debt from, but as we'll never be able to work it out they get go sit on it for all I care, I'm not killing my wife for your stupidity.
Told them this too, and requested in front of my brother to "never ring this number again, if you do it's considered harassment" they were also told there are 4 witnesses one a lawyer.

They rudely sad "we recorded everything you said" and hung up.

Don't mess with me

First I knew of any type of outstanding debt, came from a letter from Panthera two weeks ago, regarding an Origin Gas Account.

I got in contact via email with both Panthera and Origin about the debt.

The debt was for a gas service I had at my old address. However, I still had my original email that I had sent to Origin to disconnect the service and to send the final bill to my new address, which I forwarded that email to Origin for their review.

Origin were fantastic to deal with in the matter and realized it was an error on their end and advised me that they will get in contact with Panthera to advise them of their error and will waive the debt.

That was nearly two weeks ago.

Panthera on the other hand, don't seem to respond to anything too quickly. As I'd emailed Panthera, Origin's email response to me once I recieved it, while I was trying to work things out with both of them.

Today, I received an email from Panthera with an attachment with the final bill from Origin that's outstanding.

They left me with no other option, but to reply back to Origin with their email stating about contacting Panthera and waiving the debt. I also, Cc'd Panthera Finance into the reply, as all I want/need from Origin, is that they did inform Panthera of the error and would be waiving the debt.

Personally, I should have by now, received confirmation from Panthera that this outstanding debt has been rectified with Origin. I don't believe Origin is to blame here. Panthera just seems to take weeks to correspond/acknowledge anything.

However, I have all email correspondence printed in case I need to go to ACCC.

- Don't Listen to this scumbag hes full of lies
- They never will tell any details that incriminate themselves so they can face prosecution for harassment and unlawfully acting out of jurisdiction
- They ask specifically for your details so they can build a profile on you which they don't have as its illegal for companies to give your personal details out
- Both the owners live in 2 million dollar homes in brisbane and travel constantly through the year.
- They will never give you an invoice because companies ain't allowed to give your personal details as its a breach of privacy.
- They apparently have paid your debt so tell them to go fly a kite
- MOST IMPORTANT settle your debt with the original contractors NOT THEM as they are not acting within legal means.
- Tell me something how do you afford 4 million dollars worth of property by just collecting debt, you guys complete scum. Collecting debt from the less fortunate, poor, elderly and anyone you can prey on.

They called, I didn't pick up because I do not recognise the number. they left message and just said "[name] this is KATE please call to 1300 722 974 ref# bla bla" so I called back thinking what did I owe after reading these complaints and she offered to lend some money. SHARK LOAN. don't fall for them. I refused and please do not call anymore. I DONT NEED YOUR MONEY
